I was also thrilled to be interviewed by another fellow ex-cop crime author, John A. Hoda, for his podcast, My Favorite Detective Stories. Here it is - aired on 12 July 2022. www.johnhoda.com/mfds-169/ I sampled John's crime fiction after our meeting and it's great! He pens a terrific story. Give it a try. |

BOOK LAUNCH - Harry Kenmare, PI - At Your Service
Last Sunday, 18 October 2020, was the day! A great afternoon with many cool libations at the glorious Nude Bar upstairs at the Glebe Hotel (formerly the Australian Youth Hotel, and Harry's Emerald Bar!). The crowd was limited to 30 due to COVID restrictions, but we had a sell-out event. The whole launch is just under an hour and a half - lots of juicy discussion!!! Cheers, ABP |

Here is my essay, "Real Crime to Crime Fiction: An Aussie Ex-Cop Turned Crime Novelist", in the Summer 2019 edition of Mystery Readers Journal.
It contains a good few snippets about my writing motivations, background to my fiction, and some reading preferences. If you want to know a bit more about me as a crime writer, feel free to have a read of the essay. You'll even read about one of the creepier moments I experienced as a detective. Here is the essay (as an excerpt from the journal) in the file below. Cheers, ABP

Yes, I was honoured to join this stellar line up of hard-boiled and noir talent in Los Angeles at Skylight Books on 28 June 2019 for an evening of Switchblade authors reading their wares!
And now Skylight Books have loaded it on their website as a podcast. Here it is my friends: The Switchblade Evening My segment, an excerpt from an as yet unpublished Harry short story, "A Sex Kitten for a Cabinet Meeting", starts at about 1:08:00 on the counter. But listen to the whole hour and a half, because there are 7 other authors featured who are awesome! Cheers, ABP |

Harry's Quest - The Book Launch
A superb Sunday afternoon at the Nude Bar, upstairs at the Australian Youth Hotel on 20 January 2019. About 50 people came along for the launch of Harry's Quest, and a merry time was had by all. My writing friend, and acclaimed thriller author, L.A.Larkin, did the official introduction of Harry's Quest, and the event was most ably run by MC Allan Yates, my friend and fellow corruption investigator. Here's the video of the event - about 1 hour 8 minutes long. Lots of great talk about the new novel, Harry's Quest, my crime writing, and all sorts of associated things! And some great questions from the audience. It's in two parts because of the length. Enjoy. Cheers, ABP |

Harry's World - The Book Launch
A great afternoon was had by us all at the Australian Youth Hotel on 22 November 2015, and the Nude Bar upstairs was the perfect place to officially launch PI Harry Kenmare upon the world. We filmed the formal part of the event so I've loaded it here for any of you who want to watch it (just under 39 minutes). My friend Fiona Patten MLC does the honours launching Harry's World, and the MC is Nigel Bartlett, a friend and fellow crime writer (King of the Road). What will you see? Well, Fiona does her keynote speech and I thank a number of people. Then Nigel convenes a Q&A session with Fiona and myself, in which we discuss, over a couple of glasses of wine, a wide variety of topics - writing, sex, politics, policing, and others! Enjoy. ABP |

"She was seriously fucking hot: short skirt and a boob tube, showing a sensational midriff. And she had a rack on her that would have made the Pope tumescent."
